Eight Healthy Quinoa recipes

Quinoa  originated in  the Anden region of northwestern South America. Quinoa is gluten-free and considered easy to digest. Quinoa is a whole grain cooked over the stove like rice. It is good source of fiber, protein, Iron,Omega 3-fatty acids. It is good for heart,bones, brain. Quinoa’s nutty flavor and light crunch make it delicious and it can eat as salad/meal/ breakfast. Lemon juice, soy sauce, vegetables, spring onion make it more delicious. Here is some healthy and easy recipes of quinoa-

1/-Quinoa with chickpea and bell pepper

Ingredients-


  • Quinoa-1/2 cup
  • Water-1 cup
  • Garlic-2 tsp finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili flakes-1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Yellow,red bell paper-1/2 cup tingle cut
  • Lemon juice-1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves-1 tbsp finely chopped
  • Lemon slice for garnishing

Method


Step 1 –Wash quinoa with water 2-3 times, keep aside.

Step2-Heat nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil, add quinoa and roast it 1 minutes. Add 1 cup of water, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black paper and cover it cook 6-7 minutes, till quinoa absorb all water and puffed up. Remove from heat and cover lid for 10 minutes, keep aside.

Step 3 –Heat nonstick pan and add olive oil, Add bell paper and cook 1 minutes . Add garlic and red chili flakes mix well. Add boiled chickpea and mix well, add black paper powder cook 1-2 minutes well, add cooked quinoa, lemon juice mix well. Remove from heat add chopped coriander leaves mix ell garnish with lemon slice and serve it.

 

2/-Quinoa with garlic flavor cauliflower

Ingredients-


  • Quinoa-1/2 cup
  • Water-1 cup
  • Cauliflower-1/2 cup small pieces
  • Garlic-2 tsp finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili flakes-1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cherry tomato-3-4 cut into half
  • Coriander leaves-1 tbsp chopped

Method


Step 1 –Wash quinoa with water 2-3 times, keep aside.

Step2-Heat nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil, add quinoa and roast it 1minutes. Add 1 cup of water, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black paper and cover it cook 6-7 minutes, till quinoa absorb all water and puffed up. remove from heat and cover lid for 10 minutes, keep aside.

 

Step 3 –Heat nonstick pan and add olive oil,  add cauliflower cook 2-3 minutes till little brown, add cherry tomato cook 1-2 minutes .  Add garlic and red chili flakes mix well. Add  add black paper powder, cooked quinoa mix well.  Remove from heat add coriander leaves and serve it.

 

3/- Yogurt Quinoa

Ingredients-


  • Quinoa-1/2 cup
  • Water-1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chili-2
  • Red chili-1
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Mustard  seed-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed-1/2 tsp

Method


Step 1 –Wash quinoa with water 2-3 times, keep aside.

Step2-Heat nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil, add quinoa and roast it 1minutes. Add 1 cup of water,1/2 tsp salt,1/2 tsp black paper and cover it cook 6-7 minutes, till quinoa absorb all water and puffed up. remove from heat and cover lid for 10 minutes, keep aside.

Step 3 – In a bowl take cooked quinoa,yogurt, cherry tomato, coriander leaves mix well keep aside.

Step4- Heat nonstick pan and add olive oil, add mustard seed when seed crackle  add cumin seed,dry red chili ,green chili. Pour this tempering on yogurt quinoa   mix it.

4/- Stir fried broccoli,bell pepper and quinoa

Ingredients-


  • Quinoa-1/2 cup
  • Broccoli-3-4 pieces
  • Garlic-2 tsp finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Soy sauce-1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes-1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Yellow,red bell paper-1/2 cup tingle cut
  • Lemon juice-1 tsp
  • Lemon slice for garnishing

Method


Step 1 –Wash quinoa with water 2-3 times, keep aside.

Step3– Take a  large bowl add 2-3 glass of water,1/2 tsp salt and boil it.In boiling water add broccoli and cook 2-3 minutes till tender. Remove from heat and quickly dip broccoli into ice water, keep 3-5 minutes.Take out broccoli and dry it on kitchen towel proper and keep aside.

Step4-Heat nonstick pan and add olive oil, add broccoli and stir fry 1-2 minutes . Add bell paper and cook 1 minutes . Add garlic and red chili flakes mix well. Add soy sauce and mix well, add black paper powder and remove from heat. Add lemon juice and mix well, add cooked quinoa and serve it.

 

5/-Quinoa with stir fry vegetables

  • Brussels sprout-5-6 cut half
  • Garlic-2 tsp finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Soy sauce-1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes-1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Yellow,red bell paper-1/2 cup tingle cut
  • Lemon juice-1 tsp

6/Cilantro-lemon-pomegranate quinoa

Ingredients-


  • Quinoa-1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Black paper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cilantro-1 tbsp chopped
  • Lemon juice-1 tsp
  • Lemon slice for garnishing

Method


Step 1 –Wash quinoa with water 2-3 times, keep aside.

Step2-Heat nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil, add quinoa and roast it 1minutes. Add 1 cup of water,1/2 tsp salt,1/2 tsp black paper and cover it cook 6-7 minutes, till quinoa absorb all water and puffed up. remove from heat and cover lid for 10 minutes, keep aside.

 

Step 3 –In a bowl take cooked quinoa,cumin powder, lemon juice , cilantro ,pomegranate mix and serve.

 

7/ Quinoa with three peppers

    I love quinoa in a cold salad, adding texture and also my youngest daughter makes a tasty “pretend” fried rice dish with veggies and fried eggs​, a sweet and sour, rice vinegar dressing!
