Papaya orange jam is made of fresh ripe papaya and fresh orange pulp. It is sweet, tangy, delicious, healthy . Homemade jam is very easy to make without any color/preservatives/pectin. Sweet level can be chosen according to taste. Jam is perfect combination for any bread , roti and sandwich cookies/tart.
- Ripe papaya – 2 cup
- Sugar –5 tbsp (as per taste)
- Orange juice with pulp –1 cup
- Lemon juice-1 tsp
Step 1 – Wash, peel and chop papaya and keep aside. Sterilize bottle with boiling water and dry it properly then keep aside.
Step 2 -Take chopped papaya in blander make smooth puree.
Step 3 -Take one saucepan and add papaya puree,orange juice with pulp, lemon juice then mix it and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes in medium flame. Add sugar and cook it for another 15-18 minutes with stirring. Check 1 tsp cooked mixture in one clean plate and keep it there for 10 seconds then divide syrup with finger, if it gets separated properly that means that it is cooked properly. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Step 4 – Pour Papaya orange jam in sterilized bottle. Store in a cool, dark place/refrigerator.
