Wheat Banana Bread

Banana bread is a type of quick bread made from mashed bananas. It is moist, soft  bread . It is kids friendly and also perfect with tea/coffee.


  • Wheat flour – 1.5cup
  •  Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4tsp/1 pinch
  • Bananas-4 small
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp
  • Powder sugar – 2 -3 tbsp
  • Milk(warm)- 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda- 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Vanilla essence – 1 tsp


Step 1 – Preheat oven to 350F/180C for 10 minutes. Line  loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.

Step 2 – In bowl take  mashed banana, olive oil,  sugar, lemon juice, mix well till fluffy.Add vanilla essence and keep aside.

Step 3 – Sieve flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder in a separate bowl.

Step 4 – Add dry mixture into wet mixture and mix until just combined ,  add little milk and mix ( do not over mix batter).

Step 5 – Pour mixture into a greased bread loaf pan.

Step 6 – Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Step 7 – Cool pan for 15 minutes,remove it to on wire rack  and cool proper,cut in to slice and enjoy !!!!!


  • Baking soda and lemon juice act as leaving agent,give soft texture.
  • You can add chocolate chip in bread and make chocolate chip banana bread.
  • Any dry fruits like walnut, cashew nut you can use.

  3. Your recipe is very similar to one I have been using, except it is made without eggs. I am slightly surprised at how fluffy it looks. I need to try your recipe.
