Pohe is a quick,healthy popular breakfast in Maharashtra,India.It is also instant breakfast option for bachelors/beginners.Pohe can make with many variations potato/onion/peanut/green peas. In this recipe pohe topped with coconut flavored green peas. Addition of fresh grated coconut flavored green peas make this recipe amazing delicious.
- Flattened Rice/Poha/Rice flakes – 2 cup
- Onion –1/2 cup, finely chopped
- potato-1/2 cup, peeled and chopped into small dice
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/2tsp(to test)
- Peanut,roasted-2 tbsp
- Cooking oil – 2 tbsp
- Raisin-5-6 pieces
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Cumin seed – 1/tsp
- Green chili – 1-2 finely chopped
- Curry leaves – 7 to 8
- Green peas-1/2 cup
- Dry red chili-1
- coconut-1/2 cup fresh grated
- Coriander leaves-1 tbsp finely chopped
- Lemon juice-1 tsp
Step 1 -Clean and wash poha for 2 times drain out completely and keep in refrigerator for 5-10 minutes so pohe will not break and stick while cooking.
Step 2 – heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan,add mustered seed ,dry red chili saute 30 second add green peas and cover it cook 2-3 minutes till soft add salt,and fresh coconut mix well cook 1-2 minutes add lemon juice and remove from heat keep aside. Heat tbsp oil in a nonstick pan add mustard seed when seed crackle add cumin seed,potato fcook 1-2 minutes ,add onion fry it 1-2 minutes till light golden then add peanut and chopped chili mix it and cook 1-2 minutes .
Step3-Take pohe bowl add salt and turmeric mix well( here adding of salt,turmeric will give pohe nice color ),add pohe in pan mix it proper do not over mix cook 2-3 minutes. remove from heat add raisin and lemon juice ,Serve pohe in plate garnish with coconut green peas and serve hot.
