Red Lentil Uttapam

Uttapam can made with,rava,oat,mix lentils and idli batter. Red lentils Uttapam made with soaked lentils ,it is healthy,instant and delicious .Red lentils uttapam is easy to digest and also perfect  for breakfast/lunch box/meal.

Ingredients(4 Servings)


  • Red lentils – 1 cup
  • Semolina-2 tbsp
  • Curd-3 tbsp
  • Onion-6-8 sliced
  • Green chili-1  chopped
  • Salt-1/2 tsp to taste
  • Coriander leaves-2 tsp finely chopped
  • cherry tomato-5-6 cut into slice
  • Cooking/Olive oil – 1 tbsp

Method


Step 1 –Take red lentils and wash with water3-4 times .Soak  lentils in sufficient water for30 minutes.

Step2-In grinder take lentils without water and make fine paste (if need add 2 tbsp water),keep aside.

Step 3 – Take mix lentil batter add semolina,salt mix it,green chili,chopped coriander leaves, mix well, cover it and keep aside for 10 minutes .
Step 4 – Heat nonstick pan and add 1 tbsp oil.Take batter with help of round serving  spoon pour in pan.On top of batter put onion slice and tomato slice. Press with spatula so that it can stick with batter well.Cover the pan and cook it for 10 minutes on medium flame
Step 5 – After 10 minutes flip it gently then cover the pan and let it cook for 10 minute on medium flame
Step 6 – Serve  Uttapam with almond/cashew nut/coconut chutney.
