Krishna Janmashtami Special 

Krishna Janmastami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna,the eighth avatar of Vishnu.It is also known as Gokulastami.Hindu celebrate Janmastami by fasting,singing,praying together preapairing and shairing special food,night vigils and visiting Krishna  temples.Authintic Krishna Janmastami Prasad is here…

    • Wheat Panjiri  ladoo(wheat flour roasted with sugar,dry fruits,ghee)
    •  Coriander Panjiri Burfi
    • Besan Ladoo

 Pure Mawa Pedas


Mawa Pedas  use as prashad for offering God in many festival it is quick and easy to make at home .Mawa peda can store in fridge for one week.

Ingredients (For 21 pieces)


  • Powder sugar/tagar – 1/2 cup
  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Cardamon powder – 1 tsp
  • Saffron-some strands
  • Almond flakes,almond,cashew nut,clove,pistachio-for decoration
  • Ghee -2 tsp
  • Basil leaves

Step 1  – Take milk in big thick bottom/nonstick pan and boil it,adjust flame and cook milk until it get thick(1/3 of original volume). Stir it with regular interval.

Step 2 – Cook 30-40 minute  until milk becomes solid dough like structure. Remove from heat and cool it for 10 minutes.

Step 3 – In nonstick pan add ghee add this cold solid milk(mawa) add saffron and cook  8 to 10 minutes remove from heat  add powder sugar/tagar, cardamom powder  mix well

Step 4 – After 10 minute take cooled mixture and kneed with hand for  5 minute,and make small ball and flatten them,  make all mawa peda (I made in different shape  and use different dry fruits for  decoration-but it is optional)

Step 5 – Put basil leaves and it is ready for offer to Lord Krishna.


 Besan Ladoo


Indian traditional Gujarati/Rajasthani ladoo made with a rich  gram flour and flavored with saffron and dry fruits.Besan Ladoo can store  at room temperature  for  a month.

Ingredients (serving-10 )


  • Powder sugar/Tagar – 1cup
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Cardamon powder – 1tsp
  • Rose water – 1 tsp (Optional)
  • Pistachio  –  3 to 4 finely chopped
  • Gram flour – 2 cup
  • Cashew nut – 7 to 9 finely chopped
  • Saffron – Few strands
  • Almond – 5 to 6 finely chopped
  •  Rava – 1 tbsp
  • Melon seed – 2 to 3 tsp

Method


Step 1 – Heat ghee in nonstick pan add  cashew nuts, almond and fry for  1-2 minutes and keep aside. Add besan and rava and roast until releases a roasted aroma or gets brown in color. It will take 7-10 minutes. Add  1 tsp milk to the besan and mix proper then cook for 2-3 more minutes and  keep aside and cool it(lukewarm).

Step 2 – Heat pan add  1 cup sugar with 1/3 cup water and for cook 8-10 minutes until  it become thick. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp ghee, stir continuous for 5-10 minutes  until mixture looks like powder(boora).

Step 3 – Mix nuts, besan mixture, boora, saffron, cardamom powder, rose water, melon seed, pistachio and mix proper for 2-3 minutes. Make round ball like ladoos from mixture .

Step 4 –  Ready for serve or store it for 10 days in airtight container.

NOTE: In step 1 Granules will form when add milk in besan ,it will make ladoos delicious also boora/tagar  make  ladoos  delicious.


Wheat Panjiri  Ladoo

  • Wheat flour flour – 2 cup
  • Mix Dry fruits (Cashew nut,almond,dry dates,Makhana,raisins,) – 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Saffron – Few strands
  • Basil leaves-

Method

Step 1 -In a nonstick pan add wheat flour and dry roast 4-5 minutes.Add ghee mix it roast again3-4 minutes .Add finely chopped dry fruits and roast 4-5 minutes in medium flame.Remove from heat , add sugar,saffron,cardamom powder and mix well.Cool it for 5 -7 minutes.
Step2-Make round ladoo with mixture .Wheat Panjiri Ladoo is ready .First Offer, Wheat Panjiri Ladoo with basil leaves to Lord Krishna .

Coriander Panjiri Burfi


Coriander Panjiri is most authentic prasad  for Krishna Janmastami.It is very delicious and nutritional  also.

Ingredients (one big plate)


  • Powder sugar/Tagar – 1cup
  • Ghee –1 tbsp
  • Cardamon powder – 1tsp
  • Coriander seed – 2 cup
  • Mix Dry fruits (Cashew nut,almond,dry dates,Makhana,raisins,) – 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Saffron – Few strands
  • Basil leaves-

Method-

Step 1 -In a nonstick pan add coriander seed and roast 3-5 minutes ,cool it,make very fine powder with the help of mixer grinder ,keep aside.Step2-add ghee on pan and roast dry fruits and coriander powder for 3-5 minutes in medium flame,keep aside.

Step 3 – Heat pan add  1 cup sugar and1/2 cup water boil it and after boiling cook 3-4 minutes(check consistency with 1 bowl water ,if one drop of sugar syrup not dissolve it means sugar syrup is perfect for burfi) .

Step4-Add dry fruits-coriander mixture  in sugar syrup and remove from heat . Spread mixture on greased plate with help of spatula,cut it and cool it for 10 minutes.First Offer, Coriander Panjiri Burfi with basil leaves to Lord Krishna.

 Panchamrit


Panchamrit is main prasad for every  Puja.Panchamrit made with panch means five holy ingredients milk,honey,yogurt,sugar,ghee and five dryfruitslike cashew ‘

]nut,almond,dry dates,raisin,makhana.Panchamrit offer to Lord first,offter prayer =fxsw  Panchamrit distibute with panjiri.yr57+Ingredients (For 1 bowl)

 


  • Basil leaves
  • Curd-1 cup
  • Powder sugar-2 tbsp
  • Honey-1 tsp
  • Cardamom powder-1/2 tsp
  • Clove-2-3
  • Milk-1 tbsp
  • Ghee-1 drop
  • Saffron- some strands
  • Mix dry fruts(cashew nut,almond,pistachio)  coarse powder-2 tbsp
  • Raisin,dry dates-1 tbsp finely chopped

Step 1  –Mix everything in a bowl.

Step 5 – Put basil leaves and it is ready for offer to Lord Krishna.

Method


Step 1 -In a nonstick pan add ghee and dalia and  roast 4-5 minutes.minutes .Add finely chopped dry fruits and cook 4-5 minutes in medium flame.

Step2-Add 2 cup hot ware mix well cover it and  water and cook in low flame 3-5 minutes till dalia absorb all water and get soft texture.

Step3-Add sugar and mix well  cook 1-2 minutes , add cardamom powder,saffron and cover it and keep aside for 10-15 minutes ( so it absorb all water sugar  and flavour of saffron and cardamom and give nice aroma and texture).

Offer  Broken Wheat  Halwa with basil leaves to Lord Krishna .
