Spinach Dalia(Broken wheat cooked with spinach and yogurt)

Dalia/Broken wheat is very healthy, nutritious, easy to digest, rich in fiber food. This is recommended for all age group. Dalia  is good option for breakfast.Dalia  cooked with spinach and yogurt make dish very healthy and delicious . This is  one pot meal and ideal for lunch box/meal .

  Ingredients (For 2 serving)


  • Broken  Wheat – 1 cup(Wash and soaked for 10 minutes)
  • Curd-1/2 cup
  • Green chili-2-3
  •  Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic-2-3 clove
  • Cardamom-2-3 piece
  • Cumin seed – 1 tsp
  • Whole black paper – 1 tsp
  • Cashew nut- 6 to 8
  • Coriander leaves-2 tbsp
  • Spinach-2 cup
  • Cooking oil – 2 tbsp

Method


 

Step 1 –In  grinder take spinach,coriander leaves,green chili,yogurt and grind it ,make fine paste,keep aside.

Step 2- Heat1 tbsp oil in a pan add cumin seed  when seed crackle,add black paper,cashew nut,bay leaf,cardamom cook for 20 seconds. Add spinach puree cook 1-2 minutes .Add soaked dalia/broken wheat and roast 2-3 minute add 1 cup water,salt  and mix it proper cover it cook in low medium flame for 8-10 minutes till dalia absorbed all water and became soft. ,remove from heat.

    Must be very good and healthy. I just chanced upon an organic rice where 50% of the husk is retained. Probably I will try this recipe with rice instead. (Wheat may be better though)
