Popular breakfast in the south Indian cuisines. Dosa is very easy to make. This is thin crispy and can be made with different filling like potato masala, paneer masala, vegetable etc. With instant dosa mix healthy, crispy dosa can make within 15 minutes.
- Urad dal(split,husked black gram) – 1cup
- Toor dal-2 tbsp
- Chana dal (bengal gram)-2 tbsp
- Salt-1 tsp
- Moong dal-1 tbsp
- Rice flakes-1/2 cup
- Rice flour-2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seed-1 tsp
- Baking soda-1 tsp
for plain dosa-(2 Servings)
- Instant dosa mix-1 cup
- Curd-2 tbsp
- Water-1/2 cup
- Cooking oil-1 tbsp
Step 1 – Dry roast all pulses urad dal,toor dal,chana dal,,masoor dal,fenugreek seed 3-5 minutes till they turn warm( just moisture free) .Dry roast semolina,rice flakes,2-4 minutes,also roast rice flour for1-2 minutes, keep aside.
Step 2 – In grinder take all pulses fenugreek seed and grind 2 minutes,add roasted semolina and rice flakes grind it 2 minutes add rice flour,salt,sugar,baking soda and grind it again 2 minutes,make a fine powder.
Step 3 – Using a sieve,sift powder in big bowl(its optional but highly recommend not avoid it),store fine powder in airtight container stays good for 5 months.Keep in dry and cool place.
Step 4 – Take powder(1 cup)add 2 tbsp curd and 1/2 cup water mix it well(no lumps) .make dosa batter consistency(medium thick)
Step 5 – Heat griddle, make hot over a high flame. Sprinkle 1tsp water(to cool) on the griddle, pour 1 full bowl mixture and spread it round and round. Drizzle little oil on top and side of dosa and cook till golden brown. It will come out easily. Remove once it brown, fold in half with the help of spatula and serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
