Split Mung Beans Savory Steam Cake is healthy,easy,delicious,digestive breakfast.It is perfect for kids lunch box.Spongy,soft steam cake can make microwave or steamer both are delicious.
- Split moong beans-1 cup
- Lemon juice-2 tbsp
- Salt-1/2 tsp
- Sugar-1 tsp
- Garlic paste-1/2 tsp
- Ginger paste-1/2 tsp
- Eno fruit salt-1 tbsp
- For tempering-
- Cooking oil-2 tbsp
- Mustard seed-1/2 tsp
- Sesame seed-1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves-3-4
- Green chili-1-2 finely chopped
- Coriander leaves-2 tbsp finely chopped
Step 1 – Take split mung beans and wash it 3-4 times with water ,add sufficient water and cover it keep aside for5-6 hours.After 6 hours remove water and take mung beans in grinder add 1 tsp lemon juice and 2 tbsp water and make fine paste keep aside.
Step2-take batter in a bowl add,salt,sugar,ginger,garlic paste,1 tbsp lemon juice,1 tbsp oil mix in clockwise direction for2-3 minutes.
Step 3 – Grease oil with little deep plate or thali .
Step 4 – Add eno fruit salt in batter mix quickly and pour batter in greased plate,spread properly ,keep plate in steamer and cook for 10 minutes.
Step 5 – After 10 minutes check with toothpick,when comes out clean its cooked. Take out plate from steamer.
Step 6 – Cover thali with any plate and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Step 7-For tempering- heat1 tbsp oil in a pan add mustard seed,when seed crackle add sesame seed,curry leaves,green chili saute for 30 second,remove from heat keep aside for 2 minutes,cool it ,add coriander leaves.
Step 8-Pour the tempering over the steam cake,cut into pieces serve with any chutney/tomato sauce.
