Katori Chaat(Cups Indian Chaat)

Katori  Chaat is a one of most mouthwatering chaat. Sprout and chhole base chaat serve in small crispy katori.Katori chaat is very impressive dish for party/special occasion.Katori can make in advance and store in airtight container

  Ingredients (For 3-4 serving)


For Katori

  • All purpose flour-1/2 cup
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp as per taste

For potato tikki

  • Potato boiled-2
  • salt-1/2 tsp

spice powder-

  • cumin powder-1 tsp
  • coriander powder-1 tsp
  • red chili powder-1 tsp
  • chaat masala-1 tsp

Cooking oil – For deep frying

  • Chaat chutney
    • Coriander chutney -2 tbsp
    • Onion -2 tbs finely chopped
    • Curd ((thick) – 1/2 cup
    • Date-tamarind chutney -2 tbsp
    • Coriander leaves -1 tbs finely chopped
    •  Sev – 2 tbsp
  •  Chhole-Sprout  chaat
    •  Boiled chhole – 1 cup
    • Moong sprout-2 tbsp
    • Oil – 1 tbsp
    • Chili powder – 1/2 tsp
    • Salt- as per taste
    • Garam masala – 1/3 tsp
    • Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp

Method


Step 1 – Take  all purpose flour in a bowl add 2 tbsp oil,salt, mix it proper and make  a semi stiff dough with the help of  water,cover it with damp cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes.

Step2- Spice powder-In a bowl take cumin powder,coriander powder,chaat masala,salt,chili powder mix it keep aside.

Step 3 –Mash potato,add little 1 tsp spice powder and make  small ball and flatten it.heat nonstick pan add 1 tbsp oil and place all tikki and cook in medium flame till golden brown in both side,keep aside.

Step 4  – Take dough and knead once again, make small ball from dough and roll them into  puris .press the round poori on the exerior of the bowl to shape it like a katori,apply little water on top of katori and dough.

step5-Heat oil in a pan for frying katori ,place katori on medium hot oil cook it till katori golden ,crispy in all sides and both katori separate with each other.take out both katori and make all katori similar way.Cool it completely.

Step 6 – Heat1 tbsp oil in a pan add all spices,salt,and boil chhole,sprout saute2-3 minutes  and add 1/2 cup water and cook for 10 minutes in low  medium flame. Switch off flame keep aside.

Step 7 –Assemble  chaat: Take one katori in serving bowl,pour 1 tbsp curd,1/2 tsp cumin -coriander-chili-chaat masala (spice powder),1/2 tsp green chutney,1 tsp tamarind chutney,.Put 1 potato tikki,pour 2-3 tbsp chhole-sprout chaat.pour 1 tbsp curd,1 tsp green chutney,1 tsp tamarind chutney . put 1 tbsp finely chopped onion,1 tbsp,sev,1 tsp coriander leaves. Serve  it.
