Indian Milk Cake(Kalakand Sweets )

Indian traditional sweets Milk cake is a grainy, delicious,mouthwatering dessert. It is made from fresh milk .

Ingredients (For 4-6 pieces)


  • Sugar –3 tbsp
  • Milk -1 liter
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice-1 tsp
  • Rose water – 1 tsp (Optional)
  • Pistachio  –  3to 4 finely chopped
  • Ghee – 1tsp( for grease)
  • Saffron – some strands

Method


Step 1  – Take milk in big thick bottom/nonstick pan and boil it, adjust flame and cook milk until it get thick(1/2 of original volume). Stir it with regular interval.

Step 2 – Add lemon juice(it will start curdling process do not stir  it 30-60 seconds ). Then 1/2 cup whey remove from mixture (reduce tartness and also reduce cooking process)

Step 3 –  Add sugar and cook more 10 minute until mixture thick and almost dry. Add rose water, cardamom powder, saffron then mix it very well then remove from heat.

Step 4 – Grease any plate and pour milk cake mixture,garnish with pistachio and press with the help of spatula. Keep aside for 1-2 minute.

Step 5 –After2 hours slice it  with large knife.

NOTE : Reduce milk proper and stir it regular interval.
