Pohe is quick ,easy breakfast in Mahashtra,India.Pohe is one of popular breakfast among bachelors/biginners/youngsters.Pohe is good for health also low calorie food.
- Flattened Rice/Poha/Rice flakes – 2 cup
- Onion –1/2 cup finely chopped
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/2tsp(to test)
- Pea nut – 4 to 6
- Cooking oil/Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Cumin seed – 1 tsp
- Green chili – 1-2 finely chopped
- Curry leaves – 7 to 8
- Green peas-1/2 cup
- Pomegranate -1/2 cup
- Sev-2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves-1 tbsp finely chopped
- Lemon juice-1 tsp
Step 1 -Clean and wash poha for 2 times drain out completely and keep in refrigerator for 5-10 minutes so pohe will not break and stick while cooking.
Step 2 – Heat tbsp oil/ghee in a nonstick pan add mustard seed when seed crackle add cumin seed,,peanut fry 1-2 minutes ,add onion fry 1-2 minutes till light golden then add green peas and chopped chili mix it cover it and cook 1-2 minutes till green peas soften .
Step3-Take pohe bowl add salt and turmeric mix well( here adding of salt,turmeric will give pohe nice color ),add pohe in pan mix it proper do not over mix cook 2-3 minutes. remove from heat add lemon juice ,Serve pohe in plate garnish with pomegranate,sev,and coriander leaves.
