Egg-less Italian olive oil with herbs bread. This is very delicious and very easy to make. It is almost similar style and texture to pizza base and also known as olive oil bread. Rosemary is main herbs in Focaccia. Perfect for table bread, appetizer, snack.
Ingredients(one full bread)
- Multi grain flour – 1.5cup
- Yeast – 1 tsp (instant)
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Semolina – 1.5 tbsp
- Garlic powder-1 tsp
- Water – 1/2 cup(warm)
- Mix Italian herbs(rosemary,thyme,basil,oregano) – 2 tbsp
- Red chili flakes-1 tsp
- Cherry tomato-2-3 halved lengthwise
- Fresh rosemary-2 tbsp
- Black paper crushed – 1 tsp
- Black olives-5 halved lengthwise
- Green olives-5 halved lengthwise
Step 1 – In bowl take warm water, sugar, yeast and mix then keep aside for 5 minutes.
Step 2– Take flour in one bowl. Add semolina, salt and yeast mixture, mix it and knead for 5 minutes then add olive oil and kneed 10 minutes. Cover dough and keep aside for 1 hour.
Step 3 –After 1 hour when you open dough it will be almost double/triple in size. Punch it add 1 tbsp Italian herbs, 1 tbsp olive oil,garlic powder then mix it & knead for 5-8 minute. Once done keep in greased baking tin and spread it with finger. Cover it for 45 minutes.
Step 4 – Preheat oven to 350f/180c for 10 minutes.
Step 5 – After 45 minutes, make finger incisions on the top of bread and drizzle olive oil and 1 tbsp Italian herbs, black paper,tomato,olive,fresh rosemary Cover the dough for 10 minutes then place in preheat oven 180c for 20-25 minutes till upper surface and all sides becomes brown. Take out focaccia from baking tin and serve hot.
