Apricot With Rabri(Hyderabadi delicacy)


Apricot with Rabri!! A delicious combination .Apricot cooked in light sugar syrup and served with saffron cardamom flavored rabri totally mouthwatering dessert .Apricot rich fiber and rabri  good source of calcium,so it is  also good for kids.

Ingredients( serving-2)

  • For Apricot  dessert
    •  Sugar – 2 tbsp
    • Apricot-8-10(dried pitted)
  • Rabri
    • Milk – 1 liter
    • Saffron –  Some strands
    • Cardamon powder – 1tsp
    • Sugar  – 2 tbsp
    • Rose water – 1 tsp (Optional)
    • Almond(apricot seed)-6-8 pieces



Step 1 – Take saucepan add apricot and 1.5 cup water cover it, keep aside for 1-2 hours

Step 2-After 2 hours in saucepan add sugar and cook in medium flame for 20-25 minutes till apricot soft and mushy(do not make apricot dry,presence of  little  syrup make apricot juicy). Remove from heat and keep aside.

For Rabri –  Take milk in a bowl and boil it until its volume gets reduced to 1/3 of its original volume(it will take 30 t0 35 minutes). Add sugar, saffron, rose water and cook more 2 to 4 minutes.

Serve Apricot with rabri and garnished with apricot seed/almond
