Tortilla chips(From flour)

Tortilla chip is a  popular snack made with Corn flour. It is very easy to make, fresh & crunchy chips .


  • Masa harina – 2 cup
  • Yellow Corn meal – 2 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp for kneading
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • Red chili flakes – 1 to 2 tsp(optional)
  • Black paper powder – 1 tsp
  • Mix Italian herbs – 1 tbsp(optional)
  • Baking powder – 1 pinch
  • Baking soda – 1 pinch
  • Cooking oil for deep frying


Step 1 – In a bowl add all ingredients and mix it well, add  little water at a time and make soft dough. Cover it for 10 minutes.

Step 2 –  Preheat oven to 180c.

Step 2 – After 10 minutes kneed once again and cut dough an 3-5 pieces. Take one piece and with the help of rolling pin roll out it 6” diameter circle  thin disc. Use sharp knife cut in to the triangle shape , cut all the disc similar way and keep  aside.

Step 3 – Place all  triangle on baking tray .keep baking tray in preheat oven 180c for 10 minutes till it light golden.Take out triangle and cool for 10 minutes.

Step 4 – Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the triangle in medium heat for 2-4 minutes till nice crispy golden brown ,take out and keep in tissue paper  make all triangle similar way.

Cool it for 10-20 minutes,store in airtight container. Enjoy it with any dips/soup.

NOTE – If you do not want  deep fry tortilla chips then you can directly cook in oven .Just brushing  triangle tortilla and place preheat oven 180c for 15-18 minutes till it becomes golden brown.
