Punjabi Paneer Paratha

Paneer paratha is  originated from Punjab, India. This is very popular healthy breakfast in India. Soft paneer and  flavored spices  gives mouthwatering taste.


  • Paneer -1/2 cup( homemade),mashed
  • Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
  • All purpose flour -1/2 cup
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp to taste
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tsp finely chopped
  • Black paper powder – 1/2tsp
  • Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Red bell paper- 2tbs finely chopped( optional)
  • Green chili -1/2 tsp finely chopped
  • cooking oil/butter-2 tbs


Step 1 – Take both  flour  in a bowl, add 1 tsp oil, salt and make soft,smooth dough with  water  (knead 10 minutes),cover it and keep aside for 20 minutes.

Step 2 – Heat nonstick pan add just 1 tsp oil, add green chili and all spices ,salt mix it then add red bell paper saute it add paneer  and cook 30 seconds and mix well. Remove from heat then add coriander leaves and cool it completely.

Step 3 – Take lemon size ball from dough and  flatten it by pressing  make like small bowl,  put paneer mixture inside and close it proper and again make it into a ball .

Step 4 – Press the filled ball  gently in dry flour  ,using a rolling pin roll  the ball make 6 inch circles.

Step 5 – Heat nonstick tava(griddle)  and add 1tsp oil/butter place paratha and cook in low medium flame when the paratha begin start puff up  flip it gentle apply  little oil/butter on paratha and  flip  paratha again,apply oil/butter and cook proper in both side  3-4 minutes. Make all paratha similar way and serve hot/cold  with curd/raita.
