Mawa Peda/Milk peda

Mawa Pedas  use as prashad for offering God in many festival it is quick and easy to make.Mawa peda is very easy to make at home .Mawa peda can store in fridge for one week.

Ingredients (serving-10 )

  • Powder sugar/tagar – 1/2 cup
  • Milk – 2 liter
  • Cardamon powder – 1 tsp
  • Rose water – 1 tsp (Optional)
  • Pistachio  – 3 to 4 finely chopped
  • Ghee -2 tsp
  • Basil leaves

Step 1  – Take milk in big thick bottom/nonstick pan and boil it,adjust flame and cook milk until it get thick(1/3 of original volume). Stir it with regular interval.

Step 2 – Cook 30-40 minute  until milk becomes solid dough like structure. Remove from heat and cool it for 10 minutes.

Step 3 – In nonstick pan add ghee add this cold solid milk(mawa) and cook  8 to 10 minutes,remove from heat add sugar, cardamom powder and rose water mix proper and cool for 5 minutes.

Step 4 – After 5minute take cooled mixture and kneed with hand for  5 minute,and make small ball and flatten them,  make all mawa peda similar way.

Step 5 – Garnish with pistachio,saffron and basil leaves. It is ready for offer to Lord Krishna.

NOTE : Reduce milk proper and stir it regular interval.
